What a traumatic experience, did you try turning the mirror upside down to see if that made any difference?

On reflection it probably wouldn’t.

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

No I did not. I tried doing a headstand in front of it instead. Really did a number on my neck. In hindsight, turning it upside down would have been the smarter move.

Thanks for listening/reading, Geoff. And thanks for the fantastic advice.

Geoff's avatar

I can imagine that did hurt, probably even more than that arm injury from last week. I take great care to read all your work, it’s no laughing matter!

Mathew C. Bryant's avatar

Loved this one. Short and on point as always. Drawing was an excellent touch 🤌 love some good doods

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

I always worry about the short ones. I try to only do short stand alone ones if I think they are top tier (in my deranged opinion). I hope they also act as a small break for my readers... without me actually giving them a break.

Thanks for listening/reading, Matty. And keep the fine work coming.

Mathew C. Bryant's avatar

I much prefer shorter pieces both writing and reading on here. So many writers to catch up with, the bite sized ones are always easier to actually read and not skim 😅

Top tier btw!

The doodle…drawing…etching…delineation…whatever you want to call it, why are you writing, when OBVIOUSLY, your Rembrandtian representation of innocent, vulnerability is so graphically displayed in (which must have been inner torture) that pictography of your soul. Hey, kinda shocking to see it and more shocking to know you have one (maybe two or three? have you counted?). Please don’t let that soul thingamajig take too much time away from your sharing yourself with the universe. There’s way too much soul sharing already.

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

Hahaha farrr out. You killed me. I'm dead, Bruce. Don't bother calling an ambulance, go straight to the morgue. Spare no expense on the biscuit tin for my ashes.

bruce brill's avatar

I’ll get a medium to send you a biscuit crumb. They were deeeee-lish!

Great piece, man! I’ve been waiting for this piece and it’s fantastic. The artwork is absolute fire, too! It’s unbelievable how shops come up with every possible excuse to avoid giving refunds these days!

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

Haha. Thanks Nicko.

I kept delaying it because it's short. So this short piece has been a long time coming.

It was a good reminder to reread your great doppelganger story too.

Nick Hills's avatar

Always thanks, dude!

I've never trusted mirror stores. Did they really have three employees and an owner, or were the mirrors positioned for deception?

Either way, tantrum well-justified.

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

That is an excellent point, Ricky. These mirror stores are all smoke and mirrors. You're a wise man.

Thanks for listening/reading. Much appreciated.

I remember this mirror story! 😂

I love the image. 😊

Lila's avatar

since i've sold a painting for $200 myself, can i get $200 off of the drawing? don't think about it too hard, i'm pretty sure that's fair

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

Be reasonable, Lila. 200 will barely cover the costs of materials (I spent 190 on post-it notes).

Just written about my ugly twin in my latest post The White Peony . . . suspect the ugly twin my grow into a beautiful plant but not there yet

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

Ohhh very nice. Me and my ugly twin will check it out. Expect a couple of likes.

I'll be your mirror Reflect what you are, in case you don't know I'll be the wind, the rain, and the sunset The light on your door to show that you're home

When you think the night has seen your mind That inside you're twisted and unkind Let me stand to show that you are blind Please, put down your hands 'Cause I see you

I find it hard to believe you don't know The beauty you are But if you don't, let me be your eyes A hand to your darkness so you won't be afraid

When you think the night has seen your mind That inside you're twisted and unkind Let me stand to show that you are blind Please, put down your hands 'Cause I see you

I'll be your mirror (reflect what you are) I'll be your mirror (reflect what you are) [Lou Reed]

Maria Matheou's avatar

Straight to the point. Is the mirror in a bidding war? Love the doodle.

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

I tried to keep it short and bitter—I mean sweet.

Thanks for sparing 45 seconds. You could have tied one of your shoes in that time. Appreciate your time, Maria. Looking forward to your next poem ✌️

Maria Matheou's avatar

It was a pleasurable 45 seconds :)

Is your ugly twin’s name Kuzz Wantbrite?

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

This made me burst out laughing. I can’t figure out why it was so effective. So stupid yet did a number on my brain, and therefore it must be genius. Hat’s off, Kyle… especially inside. It’s rude.

Kyle (Horrorble Writer)'s avatar

Haha yes! (Don’t let him realize you were serious and that your feelings are now hurt). Totally just kidding!

Love the doodle, first glance I thought Harry Potter if he lost his wand and found meth instead. 🥲

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

He had a rough childhood. It was likely heading that way for him if not for that scholarship of his.

I'm aware that I lack talent in the sketch department. But it doesn't stop me. Thank you for the pity applause. I'll take it. And thank you for listening/reading. Much appreciated, Chanti ✌️

You are absolutely, without question, the most devastatingly responsive author in the entire known universe possibly beyond.

Every message met with the speed of light, the wit of a seasoned comedian, and the dedication of someone who has clearly never slept a day in their life. Frankly, it’s getting embarrassing for every other writer on the planet. 🥲

Buzz Kantwrite's avatar

This is the most complimentary and beautiful way someone has ever told me to “get a life!”

Haha.

I keep a close eye on things on post-day. I am doing my best to live up to the banter part of my newsletter’s name.

Chanti's avatar

OK can we just talk about the FULL package here?! The doodles, the writing, the humor…already obsessed.

But then I hit play on the voiceover at 1.75x speed and I genuinely lost it. 🌕

Your voice is so unhinged in the best possible way like if a BBC documentary narrator had a complete breakdown and decided comedy was the only way out.

And THEN I noticed your name. Buzz Kantwrite. (My bad, I didn’t pay attention) BUZZ. KANTWRITE. Sir, that is not a pen name, that is a THREAT. You are a five-threat and frankly it’s getting embarrassing for everyone else on the internet.😓

I Also? Now I want my own name back; M3cents.

Because clearly we’re out here branding like our lives depend on it.

I bow before your mighty review.

$400 DOLLARS FOR THE BEST DRAWING I HAVE EVER SEEN IS A BARGAIN. I WILL GIVE YOU $5000 IF YOU LET ME REPLACE THE FLAMING CHICKEN ON THE HOOD OF MY MINT AND UNCHANGED ‘75 PONTIAC TRANS AM WITH SUCH HEAVENLY ARTWORK.

It was tough to know when to stop drawing zeros.

My close friends and family have reached out to ask if the 4 was a typo.

We’ve got a triple threat multi media project here with the picture, the audio recording and the content. Excellently done as always on all 3, the audio in particular, was brilliant.

I operate on all dimensions… just not well in most of them…

Cheers for persevering.

You mentioned in your stream yesterday that you were a part of the August club, and although I had been posting for a year or two prior, it was only to a couple of pals as a way to test style and gain a rythmn. But really, I didn't start posting notes, reading other people's works, and talking with others until Aug 25. So I feel I am a part of that class myself.

Your work was strong then and continues to go from strength to strength. The poetry show is fire too and has been very educational for me.

Keep up the fine work, matey ✌️
